About me

Hello, I’m Sarah Keller and I'm a social anthropologist turned full-stack web developer, currently based in Munich, Germany. My professional journey encompasses project management roles, a background in research, and impactful initiatives in the field.

Background

My path began as a social anthropologist, in project management and research. I’ve delved into qualitative and quantitative monitoring & evaluation, reporting, and tailored projects based on landscape needs. Notably, I established an interdisciplinary network in the greater Munich area to address care issues related to FGM/C. In this context, I served as a panelist for a Green Party event. I also set up an HIV/AIDS care and prevention center in Cairo, Egypt.

Transition to Tech

Fueled by a need for practical solutions, a life-long interest in tech, and curiosity in particularly back-end development, I committed to the full-stack development learning journey. The idea particularly crystallized during the Businettes Hackathon where a conversation with a participant brought attention to a "Tech for Good" personal project of hers. And so my transition to tech was driven by a desire to bridge the gap between the social and tech sectors. I bring technical skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MERN & MEAN stacks, SQL, and more and a unique perspective shaped by my background.

Goals & Interests

My goal is to contribute to socially meaningful projects benefiting marginalized groups. In a forward-thinking company, I aim to leverage my diverse skill set.

Beyond Work

Beyond the professional realm, I love old buildings, strolls down English country lanes, and sharing laughs at street food stalls in Vietnam. Coming from a multicultural background and having lived in many countries, exploring the history, similarities, and differences of places and people around the world is a joy. I aim to continue doing so while crafting practical digital solutions. I believe in fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment, where diverse skills and backgrounds converge to create something extraordinary. Feel free to explore my work and contact me!
